The reflector for HPS lamps , together with the lamp and the ballast, is one of the three main components of the indoor lighting kit . The reflectors direct the light emitted by the lamp towards the plants. The reflector's ability to reflect and distribute light depends mainly on the type of shape and the material it is made of. Since most grow boxes and grow rooms have a square base, the shape of the reflector should also have the same shape, allowing the light to reach every part of the grow box or grow room evenly.

Long gloss lamp reflector

The Long Gloss lamp reflector , very economical, is equipped with an ultra-reflective mirrored surface which ensures good light propagation, very light and suitable for medium or small spaces, however with heights always greater than 1.60m. As you can see from the photos, Gsi suggests using the long gloss reflective screen with the wings well apart in order to improve the reflection in the corners of the grow box.

Hammered reflector

Similar to the Long gloss, the Stuco martellato reflector has an excellent quality/price ratio. Despite being cheap it is made of highly reflective aluminium. The hammering also gives a more homogeneous diffusion of light.

In fact, this type of reflector distributes the light much more uniformly than stuco and long gloss reflectors. With the Adjust a Wings reflector you can adjust the opening of the wings according to the area to be covered. Additionally, this reflector features a heat sink attached to the base of the lamp holder. Gsi offers 2 models: a cheaper one without a heat sink and a higher quality one, with a heat sink and made of a super reflective material.

Diamond light reflector

The Diamond light reflector is a diamond-shaped reflective screen. The special design is the result of a lighting engineering study with advanced software, in order to guarantee greater light emission in the corner areas of your grow rooms. Built in anodized aluminium, it is also equipped with an E40 lamp holder and connectors. The special shape of the Diamond reflector guarantees more uniform development of the plants, allowing maximum yield in your indoor cultivations.

Grow Shop Italia suggests using the diamond reflector, at a height greater than 50 cm, in order to spread the light evenly into the farthest corners. GSI offers 2 models: The smallest suitable for 250 and 400w lamps, the largest for 600w and 1000w lamps.

Cooltube reflector

If you need to lower the temperature of your grow tent, Cooltube reflectors are the choice for you. The tubular shape of the Cooltube reflector allows you to connect it to an air extractor which will efficiently extract all the heat emitted by the bulb. These reflectors are equipped with high temperature resistant tempered glass and a small reflective panel with wings, hammered to ensure better light diffusion. The Cooltube reflector is available in two sizes: one 125mm in diameter, compatible with 250, 400 and 600 watt lamps, and the other 150mm in diameter, also suitable for 1000 watt bulbs. It is also possible to install the cooltube in a vertical position in case of cultivation with vertical systems.

Xtra cool lamp reflector

Reflector for XtraCool lamp . Special air-cooled reflector, made of aluminum and equipped with a Duran Pyrex glass sheet, allows you to maintain the ideal temperature in the grow boxes. Excellent for those who use spaces with reduced heights, thanks to its large screen, unlike the old and respectable cool tube, it allows optimal reflection even in the corners and sides of the grow rooms. Depending on the model, the Xtra Cool 125 mm or 150 mm reflector must be used with sufficiently powerful extractors such as: Vents Vk 125 in the first case and Vents vk 150 in the second case, in order to successfully contain the high temperatures.

If you are working with medium or large grow boxes, it is possible to connect several reflective screens in series, but it will be strictly necessary to increase the flow rate/power of the air extractor. In this case GSI suggests no more than 4 Xtracool reflectors connected in series, with a Vents vk 200 or Vents vk 250 extractor at the end.
