A Grow tent , also called a Grow Room, when we mean a room used, it is a domestic (indoor) cultivation environment, this environment can be obtained either from a room or portion of a room, wisely set up but in most cases, in particular for those who are now starting to try their hand at indoor growing, special cabinets are used which are very similar to greenhouses. In these indoor environments the favorable climate for the cultivation of the plants we choose is reproduced, therefore it is an environment totally isolated from the rest of the room or house, in which the parameters of: temperature, ventilation, humidity and photoperiod are kept under control and reproduced by appropriate instruments (lamps, air extractors, fans, thermo-hygrometers, control units, etc.).
Let's find out together the main instruments that we need for the complete Grow tent setup .
1 Grow tent lighting kit
The grow tent lighting kit is the main component, together with the air treatment equipment. To decide on the type of lamp and choose the ideal wattage, you must first think about the space available for your grow room. Based on the size and personal needs, it is possible to equip your spaces with grow led lamps or low consumption cfl lamps, which notoriously emit less heat, or hps lighting kits, cmh lamps or plasma lamps which heat up the rooms much more your grow rooms.
If necessary, help yourself by carefully reading our guide on manuals and resources: Choosing the lamp and the cultivation surface.
How set up grow tent and wich tools i need:
install indoor lighting kit:
- The light source should be positioned in the center of the Grow Tent, about 15-60cm from the plants depending on the type of lamp we are going to use.
- If you have a CFL light, you simply wire the socket that sits on the reflector, or you can also use it without directly wiring it to an E40 socket.
- The LED lamps for cultivation are plug & play already wired and connect directly to the electrical outlet.
- In order to be switched on, HPS MH lamps need a magnetic or electronic ballast , which must be connected to the electric current, and in turn to the reflector. It is good practice to place the power supply outside the grow room (as shown above) both for safety reasons, but above all for the heat given off by the ballast

2 Air recirculation in the grow tent
Like light and water, air recirculation in the grow tent is a fundamental parameter in indoor cultivation. choosing the right air extractor is important based on the size of the grow room and the heat given off by the lamps. Read the article on our manuals and resources: extraction introduction and air movement . The extractor must be mounted in the upper part of the Grow Tent (see figure above) to suck in the hot air which, due to the laws of physics, rises upwards.
3 Activated carbon filter
The activated carbon filter must be chosen on the basis of cubic meters and the diameter of the extractor available. The two instruments are installed in line with the air extraction circuit (see figure above). These filters play a very important role in reducing odors, eliminating them 100% if the depression standards between the in and out of the air are respected
4 Hose
Flexible aluminum duct for air extraction, or in sound-absorbing version To reduce noise to a minimum. It is strongly recommended to lead the hose towards the first useful window that is always open, to let the air flow out
5 Timer
The timer is essential to control the photoperiod between light and dark, and also the start and stop of the aspiration. The timers can be of two types, analog or digital, the latter being safer and more reliable. If several indoor lamps need to be turned on at the same time, the use of a timed electrical panel is recommended.
6 Introduction of air
Having a small air intake fan that introduces air into our grow room will promote air exchange and cooling. These small power devices are used to introduce fresh air into the Grow Tents. Working in symbiosis with the extractor especially by means of temperature and humidity control units, they produce a negative pressure in your grow rooms, reducing the release of odours. They are mounted in the lower part of the grow room (see figure above).
7 Easy roller pulleys
Pulleys Easy Roller is a pulley system to adjust the height of the lamp. With these devices you can adjust the optimal height of the lamps quickly and safely.
8 Fan
The fan, in addition to reinforcing the stems and the stem, helps prevent mold or fungi thanks to the movement of the air. There are fixed Clamp Fans, usually used in medium-small cultivation spaces and Oscillating Fans that are ideal for grow rooms and large cultivation rooms.
9 Digital thermo hygrometer
Instrument for measuring environmental parameters such as temperature and humidity. Read the article on our manuals and resources: Temperature and humidity in indoor crops . Keeping these parameters under control is essential for a successful harvest.
10 Humidity temperature control units
The GSE temperature and humidity controller units are able to automate climate control, benefiting from the stability of the values. This allows for faster growth of the vegetables and lower current consumption of the ventilation system. These tools are not considered indispensable, but in our opinion they are of fundamental importance, as climate regulation is often underestimated. Regulating the climate well in the optimal values is of fundamental importance for growing indoors, increasing the speed of growth of the plants.
