Litotamnio 900gr

An excellent product that helps improve the performance of the soil and plants is Lithothamnium: it is a powder that is extracted from a particular quality of calcareous red algae, Lithothamnium calcareum. It is therefore a fertilizer of organic origin, coming from the Atlantic coasts of France, particular due to its structure of limestone origin.
Lithotamnium powder is obtained from these algae, a real "flour" with a very high content of mineral and trace mineral substances such as calcium and magnesium and other trace elements, all substances that allow it to be widely used for organic and biodynamic agriculture.

Why use Lithotamnium

The product is exploited for its characteristics and functions, in particular its phytostimulant action: in fact, the strong presence of calcium carbonate and the good magnesium content contributes to the excellent development of the plant and its self-defense functions.
Furthermore, lithotamnium has a soil amendment property that helps to optimize the structure and pH of acidic soils. Finally, it is a very efficient pesticide, as it forms a very fine veil of limestone-based particles on the plant, a real barrier against the mouthparts of insects which damage the leaves and plants also allowing pathogens to penetrate the plant.

Doses and methods of use

Lithotamnium is essential as a fertilizer for fruit plants and vegetable gardens, especially if used in doses of 5kg per 100m2 in acid soils with little presence of humus.

The doses necessary for preparation for 100 liters of water are as follows:

• 1000 g of Lithotamnium
• 400 g of Bentonite, binding substance, supplier of magnesium, potassium, silicon
• 600 g of sulfur soap (fungicide) or 400 g of copper sulphate

We add the following products to the suspension thus obtained:

• 600 g of linseed oil
• 2000 g of sodium silicate, adhesive substance with insecticidal action for dehydration on eggs and larvae and silicon
