Our design offices based in England have undertaken to analyze and test the lamps of our competitors in order to gather all the information necessary for the creation of reliable, long-lasting and highly performing lamps.
The first problem to face when growing indoors using OLD LED panels is the low heat resistance of low quality Chinese diodes (LEDs) which are not resistant to high temperatures.
High quality American diodes:
thanks to the cooperation that we have been pursuing for years with various research laboratories based in California, it has been possible for us to study and test in the field the best diodes on the market: the most suitable for the purpose have proved to be the American-made "Bridgelux" diodes ", high quality chips and resistant to very high temperatures, up to 150°C.
Heat Dissipation:
in addition to the use of superior quality components, we have redesigned the entire cooling system of the panels - radial cooling system - in order to avoid any possible overheating problem: the common heat sink in simple aluminum has in fact proved to be insufficient for effectively conduct the heat generated by the lamp and has been replaced by special heat sinks of our design made of copper, notoriously one of the most effective materials in heat conduction.
More power in less space:
the internal structure of the panel has also been revised and optimized: thanks to special expedients, it has been possible for us to create spots containing 25 diodes each to create more powerful panels with considerably reduced dimensions: smaller dimensions turn out to be an advantage for retailers , who see the costs due to transport reduced, and for the end users, who can use our panels even in small and very small rooms.
Modular ignition (not valid for 75W LED):
another of the innovations made to the Cultilite panels is that relating to the modular switch-on mode: in fact, we have introduced the possibility of switching on even just half of the panel to allow the grower to increase or decrease the luminous flux in relation to the increased or decreased need light.
In practical terms, this possibility translates into lower energy consumption and consequently lower costs for the grower.
Light spectrum:
the choice of color bands deserves a special mention: to be sure of opting for the best possible combination of colors, we have collaborated with botanists from various universities and research centres.
Photosynthesis is the process by which the plant produces energy starting from carbon dioxide and water, assisted by sunlight: given the obvious impossibility of imitating sunlight, we decided to extrapolate the peaks of maximum light absorption from part of the plant, based on the experiments carried out by the research laboratories cooperating with us.
Once these peaks were identified, we chose the diodes corresponding to those particular light waves and mixed them together to obtain the most effective combination suitable for the growth and flowering phases of the plants.
5+1 band spectrum:
for each spot you will therefore find the following number of diodes:
669nm : 12pcs
639nm : 6pcs
615nm : 2pcs
469nm : 2pcs
439nm : 2pcs
+
740nm : 1pcs (in the middle of each module)
In the right proportion, the use of far-red (740 nm) serves to stimulate and promote photosynthesis: it is a wavelength at the limit of the spectrum visible to the human eye, for this reason the diode in the center of each module may appear dimmer than the others.
In reality, however, plants have phytochromes sensitive to far-red, which they use for photosynthesis.
Optical Lens:
the optical lenses associated with each chip have the property of making the light emitted by the diode diverge to cover a greater portion of space: however, when the optical lens excessively widens the light beam, there is the risk of suffering excessive dispersion of light and therefore have a less effective lamp.
Replacing the classic 120° optical lenses with the new 90° lenses allows you to concentrate the light beam on a smaller surface area to consequently increase the final production of the plant.
Series connection:
the panels can be connected to each other through the special universal socket on the back of the case. The socket can also be used to power other accessories used in the grow room: fans, clip fans, humidifiers or dehumidifiers, etc...
